How to know if your smartphone Supports 4G LTE

You might be worried if your smartphone support 4G LTE and I am here to show you how to know if your phone can accept the network or not.

The truth is many Smartphone users in Africa and Nigeria in particular are still using the 3G network which is now outdated in many developed countries of the world but as new phones now come with the 4G support in Africa, it's just a matter of time before it will take over. But before then, you should know how to check if your phone is in tandem with others because you wouldn't want to be left out.

So whether you are using Android phone, iPhone, Windows Phone or even a Blackberry device, you can check if that your mobile phone have support for 4G network right here. The steps are simple though and wouldn't take much of your time.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR MOBILE PHONE IS 4G LTE SUPPORTED

For Android Users
Go to settings > Network settings > mobile network. You should see a dropdown menu of mobile standards such as 2G, 3G or LTE (4G). If you don’t see 4G or LTE, then your smartphone doesn’t support the standard.

For iPhone Users
On your iPhone device, go to Settings > General > cellular > Enable 4G LTE.

For Windows Users
On your Windows Phone, go to Settings > Celluar + Sim > Highest connection speed and check if LTE is part of the options.

For Blackberry Users
Go to settings > Network and Connection > Mobile Network > Network mode and you’ll see 4G&3G&2G. however, if you are using Blackberry Q5 and below, you won’t get 4G network services.

HOW CAN I ACTIVATE THE 4G LTE?
Once you’ve seen the 4G network, simply select LTE and if the network is available in your location, the “LTE” symbol will appear on the phone status bar replacing either “3G”, “H” or “2G” symbols.

iPhone 7 vs. Google Pixel: 7 ways Google’s new smartphones outshine Apple

Google on Tuesday finally took the wraps off of its brand new Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones. The handsets had been detailed in countless leaks leading up to Tuesday’s unveiling, and there were precious few surprises in store when the phones were finally made official. Of course, we don’t need to be surprised to be impressed and there are plenty of impressive packed into Google’s first smartphones that were “made by Google.”

Android fans might have to kiss the Nexus brand goodbye, but there’s still plenty to look forward to from the Pixel lineup. We already told you about the new phones’ 10 best features so in this post, we’ll focus on seven areas where Google’s new Pixel and Pixel XL outshine the most popular flagship smartphones in the world, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

DON’T MISS: Specs of Google Pixel and Pixel XL

Google Assistant
Google Assistant is the future of Google. The new software product uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to create a turbocharged Siri of sorts, pulling in data from countless sources in order to custom tailor the Google experience to each user’s needs. It can be accessed by voice or by text, and it can perform functions ranging from answering typical Google search queries to more personalized ones. For example, “show me photos from my trip to Las Vegas” will open the photos app and show you all relevant images.

Assistant will be available across a wide range of devices, including the iPhone 7 at some point. Apple’s iPhones will never feature the deep integration that owners of the Pixel or Pixel XL will enjoy, though.

Unlimited HQ photo and video storage
Every Pixel and Pixel XL comes with free unlimited photo and video storage using Google Photos, and there are no quality restrictions. This is a big deal considering how much space 4K videos and 12-megapixel photos take up. Owners of Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus can get the same feature on their devices with the Google Photos app, but they’ll have to pay to keep files at their original quality.

Smart storage
Speaking of all the storage space that high-quality photos and 4K videos take up, the Pixel phones have a fantastic new feature that will automatically begin deleting photos and videos off of your phone when your internal storage begins to near full capacity. The phones will only remove files that have already been backed up by Google Photos, of course, so users will still be able to access them anytime.

Better display resolution
The new displays on Apple’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are much better than last years screens thanks to better color response, but the displays still have low resolutions and pixel densities compared to rival phones like the Pixels. Apple’s smaller iPhone 7 has 720p resolution compared to 1080p on the Pixel, and the iPhone 7 Plus has 1080p resolution while the Pixel XL phablet packs 2K resolution into the same 5.5-inch screen size.

Apple fans will be quick to tell you that resolution and pixel density don’t matter, but they’ll be singing a much different tune next year when Apple finally releases iPhones with higher-resolution displays.

Daydream
There are plenty of virtual reality headsets that are compatible with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Check out this $20 VR headset, for example. Finding good VR content to enjoy on your iPhone can be a bit tricky though, since Apple doesn’t yet offer its own VR experience and dedicated VR app store. The Pixel and Pixel XL, on the other hand, support Google’s Daydream VR platform. They’ll work with the Daydream View and plenty of future Daydream headsets, and they’ll be able to take full advantage of the new VR platform.

Background OS updates
The Pixel and Pixel XL get Android updates instantly and directly from Google, just like how iPhones get updates from Apple. But because these new phones ship with Android Nougat, they push things a step further. When Google makes new Android OS updat

reason why an Android user jumped to the iPhone 7 Plus - surprising reason

Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus might seem “boring” to some users, and there’s nothing wrong with that. There’s no question that the new iPhones share the same design that Apple has already used for two years, making this the first time Apple has ever held onto an iPhone design for three consecutive iPhone generations. There are some minor differences such as the cameras and antenna lines, and we all know by now that the new phones have ditched the standard 3.5mm headphone jack as well. And of course on the inside, both iPhone 7 models are brand new and feature huge performance gains as well as improved displays.

Whenever new iPhones are released, some Android fans choose to jump ship and try Apple on for size. The iPhone 6 cycle perhaps saw the most defectors join Apple’s camp in recent history, but the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus could end up drawing even more switchers thanks to the mess Samsung is in right now. Stories from people moving over from Android to a new iPhone are popping up all over the web, but one in particular caught my eye this week.

MUST SEE: Yup, now the iPhone 7 is exploding like samsung

Over on Reddit, a user named “reptile420” posted in the iPhone subreddit about switching from Android to the new iPhone 7 Plus. Posts like this one are hardly uncommon right now — new posts pop up in the iPhone and Apple subreddits every day from users who say that they’ve decided to dump Android in favor of an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.

What’s interesting about this case, however, is the reason this particular user gave for making the switch.

For some time now, I’ve discussed how much I’d love to switch to an Android phone. Apple had a big hardware edge at one point, but phones like the Galaxy S7, Galaxy Note 7 and Moto Z feature far more appealing designs than Apple’s recent iPhones, in my opinion. In fact, Apple’s product design has taken a turn across the board lately — no, seriously — but that’s a different conversation entirely.

I would love to switch to a sleek new phone like the Galaxy Note 7. Okay, maybe not the Galaxy Note 7, but the Galaxy S7 edge is a gorgeous phablet that’s sexier and far more comfortable to use than my new iPhone 7 Plus. Sadly, there is absolutely no way I can live with an Android device as my main phone, and software is the reason. iOS is smoother, third-party apps are infinitely better, and the experience across iOS and Mac devices is seamless thanks to Continuity and other features.

In this case, however, better third-party apps and Continuity aren’t what attracted a self-described “lifelong Android user” to the iPhone 7 Plus. Instead, he says what many perceive to be Android’s greatest strengths — flexibility and customization — actually ended up driving him away from the platform.

“I’ve always had top of the line android phones and the software was always the limitation,” the user wrote in a comment on his thread. “Just sick of having to tweak so many things to make things work smoothly. And even then there is still issues. IOS has come a long way in customization and that was the only advantage android had for me before.”

I use both iOS and Android devices extensively, of course, and I personally still feel that Android’s flexibility is one of its biggest advantages over iOS. That apparently isn’t the case for all users though, and it’ll be interesting to see if others feel the same way after making the move from an Android phone to a new iPhone.

OMG! now the iPhone 7 is Now Exploding like Samsung

The world’s leading smartphone makers just can’t stop copying each other. While the company has certainly improved its image over the past few years, Samsung is likely most famous for being an Apple copycat. After all, the company was sued repeatedly by Apple for stealing its technology and designs. And as we all learned, things got so crazy at one point that Samsung even created a 132-page internal document to help its engineers copy the iPhone pixel by pixel. Of course, Apple is hardly innocent in all this. The iPhone maker has aped plenty of features from Android in recent years, and it probably never would have made iPhones with large displays if Samsung hadn’t paved the way.

But now, things have gone way too far…

So what’s the latest feature Apple ripped off from its top smartphone rival Samsung? Apparently, Apple was jealous that Samsung’s exploding Galaxy Note 7 is stealing some of the iPhone 7’s airtime, so it built an exploding smartphone of its own. Behold:

All joking aside — and before other sites catch wind of this story and go crazy with it — this clearly appears to be an isolated incident, at least for the time being.

The image above was posted by Reddit user “kroopthesnoop” on Wednesday, and it shows a matte black iPhone 7 Plus that certainly looks like it exploded. Unlike Samsung’s somewhat widespread Galaxy Note 7 problem that was due to a battery defect, however, this iPhone exploded while in transit, according to the phone’s owner. When he received the iPhone he ordered and took it out of the box, this is what he found.

Details are scarce for the time being. “Something happened between the factory and delivery,” is all the phone’s owner had to say in his thread on Reddit. Apple hasn’t commented publicly and neither has UPS, but one or both companies will likely have to investigate the matter when the phone’s owner contacts Apple for a replacement.

We were not expecting our iPhone 7 to be this Popular- Apple

Gadget blogs have been saying for months how “boring” Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are, but apparently someone forgot to tell consumers around the world because sales so far are apparently through the roof. We won’t know any exact numbers until Apple reports its September-quarter earnings next month, and continuing supply shortages will undoubtedly impact fiscal fourth-quarter sales figures. But a new report suggests that not even Apple was expecting its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus to be as popular as they have been so far.

MUST SEE: See Specs of iPhone 7 Here

Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus might be brand new phones, but they feature designs that look strikingly similar to their predecessors. In fact, their physical appearance is so similar to last year’s iPhones that many gadget bloggers decided to label them boring and uninspired long before Apple even unveiled them and discussed the changes they would feature.

Now that the new iPhone models are here, consumers haven’t been finding them boring at all.

Nearly two weeks following the new iPhones’ release, it’s still extremely difficult to find most iPhone 7 Plus models in stores. And if you’re hoping to get your hands on a Jet Black iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, you’re still anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months away from receiving your new phone, depending on which model you choose.

The new iPhones are already well on their way to becoming the best-selling smartphones in the world. According to a new report, not even Apple was prepared for how popular the phones are. Digitimes on Wednesday relayed news from its unnamed sources, who stated that Apple has had to revise its component orders for the fourth quarter of the year. And we’re not talking about a tiny correction here. According to the report, iPhone touch panel orders for the coming quarter have been increased by between 20% and 30% — that means Apple may have initially underestimated demand by as much as one-third.

see the Israeli company that can hack any iPhone and Android smartphone

If Cellebrite sounds familiar, that’s because the name of this Israeli company came up during Apple’s standoff with the FBI over breaking iPhone encryption. The agency managed to crack the San Bernardino iPhone with the help of an undisclosed company. Many people believe it was Cellebrite that came to the rescue. Meanwhile, the company revealed that it could hack just about any modern smartphone, but refused to say whether its expertise is used by the police forces of repressive regimes.

Cellebrite talked to the BBC about its technology, including equipment and software.

“I was given a demo using a Samsung phone supplied by the company,” BBC’s Rory Cellan-Jones said. “It was running quite an old version of Android – 4.2 – but I was allowed to take it away for half an hour, put a password on it, and use it to take photos and send a text message.”

Upon his return, Yuval Ben-Moshe from Cellebrite took the phone, plugged it into a “chunky tablet computer, and disabled the lock code.

“We can pretty much pull up any of the data that resides on the phone,” he said and downloaded all the photos taken with the device.

When asked whether this kind of hack applies to other devices, Ben-Moshe said that his company could access data on “the largest number of devices that are out there in the industry.” Even the iPhone 7.

“We can definitely extract data from an iPhone 7 as well – the question is what data.”

The security expert said that even data from encrypted services such as WhatsApp can be accessed hinting that not all communication is totally secure.

The iPhone may be hackable to some extent, but that doesn’t mean that Cellebrite cracked the iPhone 5c that belonged to one of the San Bernardino shooters. Or at least, the company would not comment on any of its customers.

The iPhone 7 is already jailbroken, but you can’t jailbreak yours now

All things considered, that didn't take long. The iPhone 7 turned out only a couple days back and it has as of now been jailbroken. Tragically, early purchasers looking to jailbreak the iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus and introduce Cydia applications don't have anything to be energized just yet. The creator of the jailbreak is keeping the findungs private.

Security researcher Luca Tedesco posted an image on Twitter that shows a jailbroken iPhone 7 (iPhone9,3), running iOS 10.0.1 with Cydia version 1.1.26 installed, discussing the jailbreak in subsequent messages. However, the developer did not share the method he used to jailbreak the iPhone, and there’s no tool available that you can use to jailbreak your device. It’s also not clear if this is an untethered jailbreak.

It’s very likely that numerous other hackers, as well as intelligence agencies, are also working on similar jailbreaks, and the usual suspects who release them to the public will probably come out with a public version in the future.
As always, though, you can expect Apple to patch the vulnerabilities that let hackers jailbreak the phone with upcoming software updates. After all, that’s how this iPhone jailbreak cat-and-mouse game is played.
Should you jailbreak the iPhone 7 in the first place? It’s probably not necessary for most users, especially considering the many advancements Apple made with iOS in recent years, some even inspired by jailbreak apps. Not to mention that a jailbroken iPhone is also more susceptible to malware. Power users who want apps and resources that are only available from Cydia will probably want to do it though, and they likely know how to guard themselves against iOS malware.

7 ways that the Apple’s iPhone 7 is much better than any Samsung phone

The second half of 2016 has been very interesting as far as flagship smartphones go. First Samsung released the sleekest and most impressive smartphone the world had ever seen, but had to subsequently recall it because some units were exploding. The Note 7 is now back on sale in the US but having left destroyed cars, injured users and even a burnt down house in its wake, the phone may never gain back the momentum it had.

Then Apple launched its new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, but supply was so tight that Apple didn’t have a single iPhone 7 Plus model available to purchase in stores on launch day. Things are getting a bit better now but good luck finding a Jet Black iPhone anytime soon.

Launch issues aside, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are still the phones to beat now that they’ve launched. In this post, we’ll look at several ways Apple’s new phones are unbeatable, even when pitted against Samsung’s best flagship Galaxy phones.

  • It doesn’t explode

Okay, that was a joke. Sort of.

  • Optical zoom

Apple’s new iPhone 7 Plus features a dual-camera setup that includes one wide-angle lens and a second telephoto lens. Apart from all of the depth data the camera can capture as a result, iPhone 7 Plus users can also use an optical zoom feature that zooms in at 2x without any loss of quality. The phone also has digital zoom, as do Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 and Galaxy S7 series, but the iPhone is the only device with optical zoom.

  • Better water-resistance

Samsung smartphones have featured water-resistance for longer than Apple’s since the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are the first iPhone models to feature an IP rating. But it looks like Apple may have actually done a better job than Samsung, at least according to some recent tests. Looks like removing that headphone jack wasn’t such a bad idea after all.

  • Insanely smooth performance

Samsung’s Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge and Galaxy Note 7 are among the most powerful Android phones that have ever been built. Incredibly, they still can’t touch last year’s iPhone 6s, let alone this year’s iPhone 7. In real-world use, comparing the Note 7 to Apple’s iPhone 7 was just embarrassing — Apple has done a remarkable job with its A10 Fusion chip, and with optimizing iOS for speed and performance.

  • Durability

Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Note 7 are gorgeous phones and they’re built out of premium materials that feel great in the had. All that glass is fragile, however, making the aluminum iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus far more durable and less likely to break when dropped. Take a look at the second video in this drop test post and you’ll see just how much stronger Apple’s iPhones are.

  • Stereo speakers

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are the first iPhones to feature stereo loud speakers, with one that faces down on the bottom of the phone and a second that faces forward in the opening above the display. The sound is dramatically improved compared to earlier iPhone models, and it’s also much better and more clear than Samsung’s flagship phones.

  • 3D Touch

Combined with Apple’s advanced Taptic Engine, 3D Touch is a fantastic feature on Apple’s iPhone lineup that no Samsung phone can match. It allows users to perform a wide range of different actions quickly and easily.

  • Timely software updates

This is a huge one.
When Apple releases an iOS update, iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users have access to it instantly, and this will continue to be the case for many years. When Google pushes out an Android update, Galaxy S7 and Note 7 users are lucky if they get it a few months down the road. And next year when the phones are no longer Samsung’s latest and greatest, users will have to wait even longer.

All the biggest complaints about the iPhone 7 -how to fix it

Apple just released new iPhone models and we all know that there are certain inevitabilities each and every time that happens. First, it means millions of people will buy them. Second, it means people will flood the web with a fresh new round of complaints. Such is the case with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, which were just released this past Friday. Apple’s announcement that pretty much none of the most desirable new models would be available in stores kept lines abnormally short last week, though there was still plenty of commotion around the world as millions of people got their hands on Apple’s latest and greatest.
Of course now that the new phones have made their way out into the world, the complaints are beginning to flood in. As a matter of fact, we might even already have our first “gate” scandal. In this post, we’ll run through all of people’s biggest complaints about Apple’s new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and we’ll also tell you how to address them whenever possible

MUST SEE: iPhone 7 vs. Galaxy Note 7 speed test: This is just embarrassing…

3.5mm headphone jack

First and foremost, people are complaining about Apple’s decision to get rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack. You can still use any pair of headphones with a 3.5mm plug, of course, since Apple included an adapter in the box. People are still upset though, and some of the complaints are valid. In particular, people can no longer charge their phones while wired headphones connected… unless they want to buy a ridiculous adapter.

Just plug this into your iPhone 7, Apple's 3.5mm adapter into this, and your old headphones into that. Courage!

New home button

Apple’s new capacitive home button on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are a stepping stone for the complete removal of the home button on next year’s new iPhone. Not everyone likes the new 3D Touch home button though, and it also doesn’t work when you’re wearing gloves — not even touchscreen-friendly gloves.

New unlock behavior

People don’t like having to press the home button to unlock their iPhones instead of just touching the home button and letting TouchID work its magic. Luckily, this is a function of iOS and you can adjust your settings if you prefer the touch-to-unlock behavior.

MUST READ -SPECS AND PRICE OF IPHONE 7

Jet Black

Apple’s new Jet Black color is beautiful, but people are complaining that it’s impossible to find. And the few who have managed to get their hands on a Jet Black iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus have confirmed early reports that the Jet Black finish is very prone to scuffs and scratching. What’s more, it’s a magnet for grease and grime.

The iPhone 7's stunning jet black finish goes through a nine-step process of anodization and polishing before being slathered with courage

If you do decide to buy a Jet Black iPhone, you should absolutely plan on putting it in a case. And even then, it’ll likely still get scratched up a bit as dust and dirt works its way into the case.

Battery life

There were tons of complaints around the web over the weekend from people who said that the battery life on their new iPhone 7 or 7 Plus was worse than their comparable 6s model. This may indeed be the case… but only for the first day or two.

MUST READ - SPECS AND PRICE OF IPHONE 7S

No service bug

Some users have found that after enabling and disabling airplane mode on their iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus, they see a “no service” message in the upper left corner of the screen and are no longer able to connect to cellular networks. Apple has acknowledged the issue and is working on a fix. If this happens to you in the meantime, power the phone off, remove the SIM, reinsert the SIM and turn the phone back on.

EarPod control malfunctions

A number of users have complained that the volume controls and action button on the Lightning EarPods stop working after a few minutes of being plugged in. Unplugging them and plugging them back in seems to resolve the issue, though sometimes only temporarily. The good news is that Apple has acknowledged the problem and it says a software fix is coming in an iOS 10 update.

Hissgate

This is a peculiar one and for the time being, there’s no available fix. Some (many? most?) iPhone 7 Plus units emit a barely audible hissing sound while in use. You can hear it if you place the Apple logo on the back of the phone to your ear and scroll down any screen. While the sound on most phones doesn’t appear to be loud enough to be audible at a reasonable distance, some users report that the hissing actually is much louder when the phone is under a heavy load.

iPhone 7 sales in 2016 might eclipse 100 million units : Report

In the weeks and months leading up to the iPhone 7 introduction, Apple’s next-gen smartphone was largely panned as ‘boring’ upgrade. Incredibly, this narrative carried so much weight that it even compelled Samsung to rush its Galaxy Note 7 to market, a move which backfired in the worst of ways.

The reality is that the iPhone 7 appears to be much more popular of a device than most analysts anticipated, as evidenced by record-breaking pre-orders at a number of carriers. Apple, though, said that it won’t be issuing any weekend launch sales figures this year, which means that we’ll have to wait until Apple’s earnings reports in October and then again in January before we can accurately assess the true popularity of the iPhone 7.

That aside, a pair of analysts from South Korea believe that the iPhone 7 is nothing short of a bonafide success. In remarks relayed by ZDNet , analyst Lee Seung-woo of IBK Investment & Securities anticipates that Apple will sell upwards of 100 million iPhone 7 units by the time 2016 comes to a close.

Korean component vendors for Apple expected a volume of 80 million to 85 million units, but this has jumped by between 17-25 percent to over 100 million by the end of the year, said IBK Investment & Securities analyst Lee Seung-woo.

Seung-woo also believes, as do many, that the PR disaster that was the Galaxy Note 7 has served to divert sales in Apple’s favor.

Meanwhile, analyst Song Eun-jeong of Hi Investment & Securities is equally as confident that the iPhone 7 will eclipse sales of the iPhone 6s. Of course, what that means exactly remains to be seen given that iPhone 6s sales checked in lower than the iPhone 6 in 2014.
Regardless, it’s quickly becoming clear that all those notions of us having reached ‘peak iPhone’ were far too presumptuous.

Why the iPhone 7 is much more popular than anyone thought it would be

The iPhone 7 is turning out to be a more successful and popular device than most analysts could have imagined. Indeed, many analysts were of the mind that the iPhone 7 would usher in a lackluster if not disappointing upgrade cycle. As it turns out, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

As we covered previously, pre-orders for Apple’s new iPhone 7 models completely blew away expectations at Sprint, T-Mobile and AT&T. What’s more, Apple a few days ago said that all iPhone 7 Plus models and all Jet Black iPhone 7 models were already sold out from in-store supply. In other words, if you don’t already have an existing pre-order, you may have to wait a while for an iPhone 7 Plus or a Jet Black iPhone 7.

With demand for the iPhone 7 soaring, one has to wonder how and why so many analysts managed to get everything so wrong? My personal take is that analysts became too pre-occupied with fancy new features and completely ignored two important factors:  a) the iPhone 7 offers tremendous performance improvements and b) the pool of existing iPhone users in the market for an upgrade was vastly underestimated.

To the first point, there’s no getting around the fact that the iPhone 7 essentially looks identical to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6; but that’s no reason to dismiss the iPhone 7 out of hand.  Underneath the hood, the iPhone 7 is an incredibly compelling device and offers up mind-boggling improvements in performance, long-overdue improvements to battery life, and vastly superior camera technology. So while some pundits were quick to label the iPhone 7 as a boring upgrade because it didn’t introduce a funky new design aesthetic, they completely underestimated the fact that users will tolerate a familiar design if the device itself represents a huge leap forward in other respects.

As John Gruber insightfully pointed out earlier this week:

There is a large contingent of pundits who apparently would be more excited about a new iPhone that looked entirely different but had the exact same components as the iPhone 6S than they are by the actual iPhones 7, which are shaped like the 6S but have amazing new components. I don’t get that mindset at all. It’s like being a car pundit and judging the new Porsche 911 with a “meh” because it looks like the previous 911, and never even considering what it’s like to actually drivethe new car.

To the second point, most analysts did not seem to appreciate that the release of the iPhone 6 ushered in a massive refresh cycle, luring in users who for some time had been waiting for Apple to release a larger-screened iPhone. That was two years ago and now all of those iPhone 6 owners are back in the market for a new device. Also, consider this: the jump in functionality from the iPhone 6 to the iPhone 7 is far greater than the jump we saw from the iPhone 5s to the iPhone 6s. In other words, Apple’s iPhone release this year is much more alluring to users on a 2-year upgrade cycle than the iPhone 6s was last year.

It’s worth noting that at least one analyst got things right: analyst Tim Long from BMO Capital Markets. In a research note put out this past June, Long astutely pointed out that the percentage of iPhone owners with devices more than two years old was at an all-time high and was much greater than what we saw in the months leading up to the iPhone 6 and 6s release. According to Long’s estimates, 120 million iPhone users as of June 2016 were using iPhone 5s devices or even older models.

All the while, analysts also seemed to ignore that Apple told component suppliers to get ready for an iPhone production target in the 72 to 78 million range, making it the “highest production target in about two years.” Wall Street analysts, meanwhile, were initially projecting iPhone 7 production to fall in the 65 million range.

Apple said it won’t be releasing iPhone 7 weekend launch sales figures this Monday, so we’ll likely have to wait until the company’s earnings report in October before we get a firmer read on the iPhone 7’s popularity.

iPhone 7 speed test results are in, and they’re going to surprise you

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are out, which means early buyers will put them through a variety of performance and durability tests. We’ve already seen a full teardown of the phablet and an extensive durability test. It’s now time to look at the performance of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, as the first comparisons with the iPhone 6s and Galaxy S7 appeared on YouTube.

iPhone 7 Plus vs. iPhone 6s Plus
As you’ll see in MadMattTV’s video, the iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus appear to be equals when it comes to opening specific default apps. The iPhone 6s Plus is slightly faster at opening up the Camera app, while the iPhone 7s Plus seems to do be quicker at opening the App Store app and loading websites in Safari.

For more intense tasks, the iPhone 7 Plus comes out ahead, but only slightly. The new phablet completes the Geekbench test faster and gets significantly higher scores, and it exports movies faster than its predecessor. The iPhone 7 Plus is also slightly faster at loading games.

For some reason, the iPhone 6s Plus boots a lot faster than the iPhone 7 Plus, but that’s not something that will bother you in day-to-day usage. What you will appreciate about the iPhone 7 Plus is its Wi-Fi speed, which is far superior to the iPhone 6s Plus.

The overall conclusion following this speed test is that the iPhone 6s is no slouch compared to the iPhone 7. The new iPhone scores a lot better in benchmarks, but the speed gains aren’t always noticeable.

Of course, there’s an explanation. This is likely because of the way the A10 Fusion is designed to work. It’s a four-core mobile chip that has two high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores. For some of the tasks in the video below, the iPhone 7 Plus is undoubtedly relying on the more efficient cores.

What we don’t see in this clip is how fast the iPhone 7 can cycle through apps, or how fast it opens apps that are already loaded. This is just one of the first iPhone 7 vs. iPhone 6s speed tests that hit the web though, so it’s likely that more thorough speed battles will be available soon.

iPhone 7 Plus vs. iPhone 7 vs. iPhone 6s Plus

YouTube channel MarcianoTech has an extensive video that compares the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 6s Plus. But the test only looks at benchmark scores. We have Geekbench, 3DMark Ice Storm and JetStream tests in this video, and the iPhone 7 simply crushes its predecessor. The new iPhones are also much quicker at loading Modern Combat 5 than the iPhone 6s Plus.

iPhone 7 Plus vs. Galaxy S7
Finally, a video that appears to originate from the same source even though it was posted on The Dutch Gamer shows us the iPhone 7 defeating the Galaxy S7 in the same benchmark tests. It also shows the two phones opening graphics intensive games (Asphalt and Modern Combat 5) and the iPhone 7 is the faster device. In one test, the Modern Combat 5 game on the iPhone isn’t configured, so the tester has to set up some settings while the game is loading.

so guys, what do you think?

Apple just released iOS 10, how to update yours

If you’ve been reading about iOS 10 all summer long with envy as other people chat about the iOS 10 beta that you didn’t quite have enough faith in to install, it’s time to put an end to the jealousy. And we can’t say we blame you, by the way — the iOS 10 beta run has been extremely stable, but Apple has released some truly shaky beta software in the past so it’s understandable if some people made sure to avoid it.

Today marks the end of the beta period though, and Apple’s new iOS 10 software has been released for all iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users.

If you haven’t been following coverage of Apple’s new iOS 10 software, it really is a terrific update that’s packed full of new features, refinements and optimizations. That said, definitely don’t go into this update looking for much in the way of innovation. As has been the case with the past few iOS updates from Apple, iOS 10 is more about renovation and leveling certain features with Android than it is about innovative new features.

In the iOS 10 update, you’ll find a brand new Messages app that adds a number of fun and useful new features. Whereas Messages had previously been a slightly enhanced SMS app and service before, it’s now a bit closer to being on par with the new generation of feature-rich messaging apps. Sadly though, it’s still not cross-platform.

Apple’s Maps app has been enhanced with third-party app integration, the Music app has been redesigned to be much more user-friendly, and Apple’s lock screen experience has been completely revamped with refined widgets and a convenient new raise-to-wake feature. Siri is dramatically improved, the Photos app has been revamped and there’s plenty more to enjoy.

So what are you waiting for? iOS 10 is available for download beginning immediately as an over the air (OTA) update, and it can also be downloaded and installed through iTunes.

Apple’s new iOS 10 update is compatible with the following devices:

iPhone 6s
iPhone 6s Plus
iPhone 6
iPhone 6 Plus
iPhone SE
iPhone 5s
iPhone 5c
iPhone 5
iPad Pro 12.9-inch
iPad Pro 9.7-inch
iPad Air 2
iPad Air
iPad 4th generation
iPad mini 4
iPad mini 3
iPad mini 2
iPod touch 6th-generation

reason why i hate the over-hyped iPHONE 7 even when i dont have one

Apple’s big iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus unveiling is now behind us, which means the rumor mill can finally take a break for a few months before things pick up again with next year’s completely redesigned iPhone 8 (or Apple Phone, or just “iPhone,” or whatever Apple decides to call it). It also means that the press has been given some hands-on time with the new iPhones so they could offer readers early impressions. And it means iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus units have been seeded with a small but expanding group of Apple-approved reviewers so they can publish their reviews next week ahead of the new iPhones’ release.
I’m not an approved reviewer, so I don’t have an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus review unit. I also wasn’t at Apple’s press conference on Wednesday, so I haven’t had any hands-on time with the phones. I haven’t spent any time at all with the new iPhone models or even laid eyes on them at this point, but I’ve already seen enough to know that I’m in for a rough 12 months once I finally get my hands on a new iPhone next week.

MUST SEE: The 12 best new features of Apple’s iPhone 7

As any regular readers probably know all too well, I have always been very open about how much I dislike Apple’s phablets. Unlike Samsung’s Galaxy Note phones, which offer fantastic features that make use of every millimeter of their giant displays, the iPhone 6 and 6s Plus were just bigger for the sake of being bigger. Apple made no attempt to offer any nifty new functionality that makes use of the extra size. People wanted bigger iPhones, so Apple built bigger iPhones.

MUST READ - see specs iphone 7 plus

I’ve tried time and time again, but I just couldn’t find a way to live with an iPhone phablet. The size has always been too big a barrier for me. It’s too large to use comfortably with one hand, too heavy to use comfortably with two hands, and it doesn’t fit well at all in pants pockets. Apple’s need for a Touch ID home button means there’s a large amount of space around the display, so iPhone phablets are much bigger than rival smartphones with the same size screen.
That said, I’ve also covered the drawbacks of sticking with the smaller iPhone. The comparatively tiny display with its pathetic 720p resolution feels like a relic of the past at this point, especially since every Android phone I use is equipped with a big, beautiful 2K display. And the battery life… Ooooh, the battery life. I charge my iPhone 6s twice a day and it’s still often under 20% when I wake up in the morning.

Well, Apple, I’ve had enough. I can’t take it anymore. You win. This time around I’m bailing on the smaller iPhone and buying the larger and much pricier iPhone 7 Plus. And I’m going to hate it.
Apple’s new iPhone 7 Plus is an improvement over its predecessors in so many ways. Unlike the iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6 Plus before it, Apple actually has included some new features in the 7 Plus that make use of the extra size. No, there still aren’t any special software features like split-screen multitasking, but there is a new dual-lens camera that looks positively jaw-dropping. By coupling the iPhone 7’s 12-megapixel sensor with a second telephoto camera, the iPhone 7 Plus can zoom to 2x without impacting image quality. It can also capture photos with a bokeh effect that simulates images taken with a DSLR by blurring the background.

Aside from product shots for device reviews here on the site, my iPhone is the only camera I ever use to take photos and I want the best camera available. Add in the bigger display with better resolution and the huge bump in battery life you get with the Plus compared to the smaller iPhone, and it’s well worth the $120 upgrade.

Millions of people are going to have to change their usage patterns when they take delivery of a new iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus in the coming weeks and months. The lack of a standard 3.5mm headphone jack means using a dongle with old headphones, and it also means not being able to listen to music while charging unless that music is streaming to a speaker or headphones over Bluetooth. Personally, I’m fine with that. What I’m far more miffed about to is not being able to use my phone comfortably anymore with one hand, or being able to fit it comfortably in the pocket of my gym shorts or even my jeans.

Next year’s iPhone is rumored to be a complete reimagining of Apple’s smartphone design. According to rumors, it’ll ditch the home button and feature a Touch ID scanner that’s embedded behind the new OLED display. And that new OLED display will supposedly have much less dead space around it, resulting in a more compact iPhone that still has a nice big screen. I was hoping I would be able to hold out until then to switch to an Apple phablet, but the iPhone 7 Plus is just too good to pass up.

iphone 7 finally released - complete specs and price

Apple has finally released the long awaited and over hyped devices, i dont really know what people see in the APPLE devices and why they are over hyped, yes it is water resistance and has some other cools features, but there are other vool and more better devices out there with good and cool specs and the price is not even half the price of Iphone 7 and 7 plus.

Apple just unveiled the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, folks. They weren’t the best-kept secret in town, but the leaks and rumors were hardly able to tell the whole iPhone 7 story. In fact, we still have to wait to get our hands on actual devices before we know specific details about their internals. That said, this is what you can expect from the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus' hardware.

what is the need of all those features when Apple can't work on their iPhone battery performance? Why embedding a non removable 1,960 mAh poor battery on this device? It's absolutely hilarious.

Also why can't Apple at least increase the screen size of this device to at least 5-inches? Why just 4.7-inches? Only this two aspects of the device is a deal breaker for me on this device. Well, take a look at the full phone Specifications of iPhone 7 below.
