Good News!! Whatsapp Extends Blackberry Shutdown Date to - See Date

WhatsApp earlier this year announced they would no longer be supporting BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 handsets by the end of 2016 but it seems they have changed their mind.

According to an update in the FAQ section of the WhatsApp App it has now been extended to June 2017.

WhatsApp support for mobile devices
As announced in our blog, we will soon be ending support for certain devices. On June 30, 2017, we will no longer support the following platforms:
BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10 Nokia S40 Nokia Symbian S60 The following platforms will no longer be supported at the beginning of 2017:
Android 2.1 and Android 2.2 Windows Phone 7 iPhone 3GS/iOS 6

These platforms don’t offer the kind of capabilities we need to expand our app’s features in the future. If you use one of these affected mobile devices, we recommend upgrading to a newer Android running OS 2.3+, a Windows Phone 8+, or an iPhone running iOS 7+ before the end of 2016 to continue using WhatsApp.

The new update for the BlackBerry 10 version is available through BlackBerry World, it should be however noted that this just resets the time-bomb built into the app. a whole lot of people have been trying to dispose their phones to get compatible ones but i guess now they’ll wait a little more.
Don’t forget to share with your Friends.. GoodLuck.

How to know if your smartphone Supports 4G LTE

You might be worried if your smartphone support 4G LTE and I am here to show you how to know if your phone can accept the network or not.

The truth is many Smartphone users in Africa and Nigeria in particular are still using the 3G network which is now outdated in many developed countries of the world but as new phones now come with the 4G support in Africa, it's just a matter of time before it will take over. But before then, you should know how to check if your phone is in tandem with others because you wouldn't want to be left out.

So whether you are using Android phone, iPhone, Windows Phone or even a Blackberry device, you can check if that your mobile phone have support for 4G network right here. The steps are simple though and wouldn't take much of your time.

HOW TO KNOW IF YOUR MOBILE PHONE IS 4G LTE SUPPORTED

For Android Users
Go to settings > Network settings > mobile network. You should see a dropdown menu of mobile standards such as 2G, 3G or LTE (4G). If you don’t see 4G or LTE, then your smartphone doesn’t support the standard.

For iPhone Users
On your iPhone device, go to Settings > General > cellular > Enable 4G LTE.

For Windows Users
On your Windows Phone, go to Settings > Celluar + Sim > Highest connection speed and check if LTE is part of the options.

For Blackberry Users
Go to settings > Network and Connection > Mobile Network > Network mode and you’ll see 4G&3G&2G. however, if you are using Blackberry Q5 and below, you won’t get 4G network services.

HOW CAN I ACTIVATE THE 4G LTE?
Once you’ve seen the 4G network, simply select LTE and if the network is available in your location, the “LTE” symbol will appear on the phone status bar replacing either “3G”, “H” or “2G” symbols.

BlackBerry Hub+ now available to Download On Playstore

BlackBerry is wading into the Android software pool. The once-dominant smartphone company announced its BlackBerry Hub+ service is now available for all Android phones.

BlackBerry Hub is part of BlackBerry Hub+, a suite of applications that gathers all of your communications and scheduling notifications into a central dashboard for easy access to emails, calendar notifications, social media, and productivity apps like Slack.

You’ll then need to agree to several permissions for the Hub to access your notifications and various accounts. Once this is done you have one place where you can access notifications or launch a new email, text message, or social media post.
The app is free to try for 30 days, and will cost you $0.99 per month afterwards. The promise of a centralized hub is grand and all, but it remains to be seen if people want to pay for it, even if it’s only going to set you back $12 per year.

The BlackBerry Hub app is currently available only for Android 6 Marshmallow devices. Support for Android 5 Lollipop is on the way and for only only BlackBerry users

Android 6.0 Marshmallow is now out for Blackberry Priv on At&T

After BlackBerry released the Marshmallow update for the unlocked Priv in late April, AT&T has just pushed its own update. (T-Mobile got there first in mid-June and Verizon is…well, you know…still testing) The AT&T BlackBerry Priv update delivers Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and the June security update.

The update brings all the standard Marshmallow features you’d expect like Google Now on Tap, Doze Mode, granular app permissions, App Links and much more. But you’ll also get updates to all the additional features the BlackBerry Priv is renowned for like an improved BlackBerry Keyboard, additional privacy and security settings and an improved camera. Plus whatever other junk AT&T has thrown on there.

The update is rolling out now, so keep an eye out for the firmware update notification or check manually by going to Settings > About phone > System update > Check for update. The build number is AAF355. As usual, make sure you have sufficient space and battery life on your Priv before installing the update.

Is your Priv running Marshmallow? What do you think of the update?

Blackberry Is Said to have stopped Producing Blackberry Classic phones -See Reasons

Am very sorry to announce to you guys that Blackberry have stopped producing blackberry Classic phones and it really painful to see what blackberry have gone through this year, From Facebook Dumping to Whatsapp Dumping, now they have stopped producing classic blackberry devices.

For many years, Classic (and its BBOS predecessors) has been in our portfolio. It has been an incredible workhorse device for customers, exceeding all expectations. But, the Classic has long surpassed the average lifespan for a smartphone in today’s market.

Woow, Blackberry CEO is giving out free Blckberry phones- See how to get yours

In a bid to staying relevant, the company’s CEO has brought about some sense of creativity and that is doing giveaways. BlackBerry CEO, John Chen says he will be giving away a free BlackBerry device on the 1st of every month.

Now, while that sounds appealing, there is a rule. However, this rule may seem quite difficult to break through.

Intending winners would have to tweet at John Chen stating how BlackBerry helps them everyday. Doing this, a winner will randomly be picked at the 1st day of every month.

You can be lucky, who knows. Just keep tweeting him, your luck might visit you. This is really a smart way to get Blackberry
fans on again, or what do you guys think

it officially said that blackberry would not produce BB10 Phones anymore focused on Android

While BlackBerry first gained it’s access into the Nigerian marketplace, it was a hot cake even though the fees were outrageous. I imply, blackberry changed into the talk of the metropolis and anyone who could find the money for the device at the time, had the coins.

At the time, I recall the Curve 2 was selling for over a hundred thousand Naira. Same curve 2 you wouldn’t find in the market now. Even if you should, it’d be from someone and not the market.
When people became conscious of the fact that the blackberry phones of that time were a set back especially with the frequent hanging and lagging, BlackBerry
decided to start producing BB10 phones m running BB10 OS which is completely different from the former. In terms of design, features and functionality.

Soon, BlackBerry incorporated the ability to directly download and install some android apps on the BB10 phones in a bid to making it’s devices relevant as
developers were majorly developing apps for android and iOS platforms.
All efforts, although very encouraging, didn’t seem to buy the hearts of most mobile users as the android OS was leading the chart.
Sometime last year, BlackBerry decided to go with the trend by launching it’s first android smartphone . Although the device got a lot of attention, it didn’t do so well (in
terms of sales) as expected as a result of the pricing.

All of these, I guess, has made BlackBerry officially announce that it’s preventing production of blackberry 10
phones and specializing in android phones.
In a current interview with Gulf information, John Chen certainly said they’d assist the bb10 OS for a minimal
of two years earlier than probably backing up. His statement
reads thus.

“We will support BB10 for minimum two years as a lot of governments are using it, such as Canada, the U.S, Germany and UK.”.

BlackBerry based on previous report, said it’d be producing two mid-range android phones this year nicknamed as ROME and HAMBURG; one having
a full touchscreen like the traditional android phone and the other having a physical keyboard as seen on the PRIV.

Friday, April 8, 2016

Two Blackberry Android phone Might be produced this year - see reasons

New blackberry devices that runs completely on Android OS is reportedly going to be released soon this year. You can bear in mind that Blackberry had made it clear that they may not be generating any device strolling on blackberry OS anymore.

As stated at the BlackBerry Czech, two Blackberry Android phones would be launched, one complete touch display (Hamburg) even as the other might be physical qwerty buttons (Rome).

The official statement goes like this

The BlackBerry “Hamburg” sits in the mid-range tier and packs an important surprise: the handset will lack the iconic BlackBerry keyboard, using only a touchscreen for input. The Hamburg should arrive no later than the autumn of 2016.

The BlackBerry “Rome” is a bit different, as BBCzech notes that the device will position itself in the premium category. Rumors point out that it will follow in the steps of the BlackBerry Priv, which means that it will sport both a physical keyboard and a touchscreen.

At an interview in India, BlackBerry CEO John Chen also confirmed that sub $400 BlackBerry (Android) phones are going to be released this year 2016. One interesting point he made was the high cost of BlackBerry Priv device which users lamented was too expensive especially for enterprises.

He also added that BlackBerry has picked out 10 countries including India, where their products would be marketed. The full interview can be read

Very bad as Facebook Discontinues it Support for all blackberry Devices

This is an important information to all Blackberry users… we earlier reported that Facebook will remove their supports for Blackberry, hence your Facebook app will seize to functions from 31st of March. But the truth is, an update was rolled out few hours ago, once you update your Facebook app, it will no longer function as expected.

On daily basis, BlackBerry users should know that really their device is on the blink of being totally useless. Guys, is sad I have to announce to you guys that our lovely social media app, Facebook will no longer work on blackberry phones starting from March 31, 2016

You can recall that just last month, WhatsApp announced it plans to Discontinue WhatsApp application on blackberry and some other devices at the end of 2016

Imagine using a phone without WhatsApp and Facebook installed on it at this technology age. Chai!!! I pity those that still stick with BB devices. In fact very soon, BlackBerry will be totally useless and even the BlackBerry CEO said they will no longer produce new phones.

Do not update your Facebook app on your blackberry phone; it will scatter to the normal website link. This is indeed a confirmation that the two most powerful and popular application in the world has finally turned their back on Blackberry.

HOW TO CONTINUE USING FACEBOOK EVEN AFTER IT IS STOPPED ON BB DEVICES

To all the BlackBerry users reading this, if you really like your phone and you would like to retain the Facebook app on it, then don't try and install any update to the current version you are using right now or kiss Facebook app Goodbye.

However, all blackberry users, can protest this by going viral on social media, let Facebook know your feeling with this hastag #ILOVEBB10Apps on social media.

What if I’ve already updated to the latest?

Just restore your backup of Facebook application or restore your device to the initial and you’ll have the pre-install Facebook app back. This timely blow is deadly and I bet blackberry may not be able to survive it.
